Devastating Cloud Burst with Heil Storm Shocked In Jammu & Kashmir

The recent update confirmed a devastating cloud burst triggered with heil storm in Ramban district of Jammu & Kashmir. Heavy rain invited a flash flood which washed away homes and cars, roads collapsed under ruins and debris of muds.

It happened at the night around 3 o clock on 18th April. The horrible scenes we found through TV and news. Rescue operations were prompted when tourists stuck in a hotel which was suddenly collapsed. One of them told to the press that he was witnessed that horrible scene when water level furiously flooded through the road and washed away their hotel’s 1st floor, and the building started to collapse below, they some how managed to escape from there. They also appreciated to local administrator for immediate rescue operation.

As per PTI, Total death toll has reached to 5 from past 2 days in various rain in the region. On last Saturday night 2 more people lost their lives after lightning struck in Arnas areas in Reasi dist. Heavy rain triggered a flashflood in Dharam Kund Village around 40 houses were damaged and repeated cloud burst, police managed to rescue hundreds of residents from the state.

Union minister Jitendra appreciated the prompt rescue operation by local administration and posted on twitter, ‘There are land slide and strong winds in Ramban. The administration acted quickly and saved lives.’

Dr. Jitendra Sing also Twitted, ‘There was a heavy hailstorm, multiple landslides and fast winds throughout the night in the Ramban region, including the areas surrounding the Ramban town. The National Highway stands blocked and unfortunately there have been 3 casualties and loss of property for a couple of families. I am in constant touch with Deputy Commissioner Mr Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary. The district administration deserves appreciation for timely and prompt action, which helped save several precious lives. Every kind of relief, both financial and otherwise, is being provided. The DC has been conveyed that, if need be, whatever more is required, can be provided from MP’s personal resources as well. The request is not to panic. We shall all,together, overcome this natural calamity.’

Jammu Srinagar National highway is closed due to land slides, and authorities prompted to rescue effected residents and tourists.
